Cycling

Over here, we really make time for family. During weekend or sometimes in the evening, we would go for a short drive to nearby parks or garden or river side for a walk or cycling or just let the kids play at the playground (there are lots of nice playgrounds here!!). Once in a while, we have BBQ at the parks too.

My mum bought Kaylen a tricycle while we bought Kyrene a bicycle. So every now and then, we would bring them out to cycle. Kyrene has graduated to ride without training wheels, yes, she can ride on 2 wheels!

Summer Picnic In York

When we came over to Perth last Nov, it was going to be summer. For the month that followed, we were busy settling down. Lots of unpacking, furnishing, cleaning, etc. In Feb, Kyrene's school started and there some adjustments to our daily routine.

We have been getting visitors - Helena's cousins & relatives in Nov, our Hong Kong friends in late Dec, all the way till after New Year, Helena's parents & sis family during Chinese New Year, Kyrene's ex classmate & his parents in Mar, Helena's ex-colleague & family, Johnny's relatives & cousin in Apr - since we arrived here. We'll be getting some more visitors in the next few months, at the moment, our Nov & Dec have been fulled booked.

Back in Jan, during summer, we went on a day trip to York. We went there for picnic lunch but did found that it was not that comfortable to picnic out in the hot weather. In the summer, we tend to get the Australian flies to trying to share our lunch. After a short stop over at Mt Brown lookout, we headed back to our comfortable home.

Round of birthdays

Time flies... We have been here long enough to have celebrated 1 round of birthdays for each member of the family!

Our 1st Car

We get to realize our dream to own a Toyota Rav4 here. It is an old car (1998 model) though but we are very happy with it.

Our 1st Home

We rent a duplex house in Willetton, Perth. We are about 20 mins drive to Perth city and 15 mins drive to airport. Just across the street, there is a shopping mall with supermarket, departmental store, Asian grocer, meat shop, news agency, post office, etc. Just next to the mall, there are KFC, Hungry Jacks, Mcdonalds, Chicken Treat and Sizzlers. There is also an indoor recreational centre (swimming pool) and a library within walking distance. There are several primary and high schools nearby here. Kyrene's school is just less than 5 mins drive from our home.

This is the living area where one side is the kids' play area while the other end is our computer area. There is a room on the right which could have been used as study but it ended up being a storage room. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms/toilets in the house.

New Blog

Hello there!

After much procastination, this is it! Decided to start a new blog for updates from us from Perth. Hopefully this time round, we will be more diligent and updates more regularly than before. Probably will not put in too much text but more pics instead.
